I’m learning more about the CRC legislation that comes into effect next year and it’s sounding like a rather expensive undertaking for business so far.  From what I can gather, and in very simple terms, organisations within the scope of this legislation will initially need to buy allowances (emission credits) from the Government at a cost of £12/tonne of CO2 produced.  (more…)

 We’ve been attending back to back technology events, seminars and summits all with a common theme.   Call it what you will – Green IT, environmental issues, reducing emissions, ozone damage, energy and the economy, the carbon crunch (a term I particularly chuckled at) - the evidence we have seen is that business at least seems to be getting its act together to try and reduce the effect of global warming.
