Lord Sugar wants to meet you …..
….. and we wanted to meet him too, but unfortunately the Business Link event yesterday afternoon didn’t quite live up to expectations.
The afternoon lacked structure – it was a Q&A session throughout and luck of the draw whether you were invited to ask a question or not. Lord Sugar was incisive, straight-talking and, where he could, gave decent business advice. Yes, he could be brusque and a little impatient but surely that wasn’t a suprise to anyone?
The problem lay with the questions – many of them were disappointing and it was a shame that they hadn’t been vetted beforehand. With some of them, you felt the answers were blindingly obvious. With others, it seemed that all the questionner wanted was free marketing advice.
We know that many Manchester businesses have a lot more substance so were a bit disappointed that this was such a dismal representation. And I bet he was too.
