What’s the Prince’s May Day Summit about?
1st May saw us at Manchester Airport, bright and early, for the 3rd annual Prince’s May Day Summit. With our high availability solutions helping companies become greener, we wanted to see who else thought green issues were important and find out what we could learn.
We discovered that the May Day Summit involves the UK’s largest group of businesses committed to taking action on climate change. What came through strongly to me is that there is a real business case for ‘going green’. The bottom line is that it can save businesses money. Every little helps - switching off lights and PCs at the end of the day, printing double-sided (or not printing at all) – because, afterall, we’ve been doing this type of stuff at home for years. Now companies are also looking at their business processes to see how they can take out waste, reduce the impact on the environment – and of course reduce costs.
The Prince’s May Day Summit is trying to raise awareness with other companies and get them thinking along the same lines. We’re going to do our best. If you’re interested in finding out more visit www.maydaysummit.com
