A H Mertons say “Aye” to data backup from local business 24/7 Uptime

A H Mertons is a family owned group of ophthalmic opticians established since 1977.  Now employing around 50 staff, the group has seven branches across the North West, with practices in Merseyside, Warrington, Blackburn, Manchester, Stockport, Cheadle Hulme and Tameside.

Following an introduction made via The Business Network, 24/7 Uptime visited A H Merton’s Hyde head office to demonstrate and explain how the Replicate Retina off site data backup system works.  Site visits were undertaken to assess how much data each practice held and to install the data backup software.  As a result, A H Mertons now backs up and protects all Eyecap retina scan images as well as their front of house data management system that records patient appointment/sales history and other business information.  Using Replicate Retina removes staff responsibility for backing up the data as it runs automatically every night and ensures each of the practices complies with clinical governance requirements.  This also gives reassurance that important data is backed up rather than leaving it open to an assumption.
