Stalybridge and Hyde MP, James Purnell, was impressed by the energy and
CO2 savings achievable by technology from local company, 24/7 Uptime
Ltd. The demonstration was arranged after marketing director,
Tracy Barlow, contacted Mr Purnell's office with feedback on the
Government's green IT strategy report.
Tracy explains: "24/7 Uptime helps companies to reduce the
number of servers in a business environment whilst ensuring all
applications stay up and running, no matter what. We demonstrated
the server virtualisation and high availability solutions that could
help central and local government reduce their costs and CO2
emissions. With new CRC legislation due in April 2010, this is
increasingly high priority for many organisations."
Sales Director, Chris Robinson, added: "We enjoyed the meeting
and James immediately understood the issues and benefits. He has
already provided some invaluable help and we appreciate his
support."
James Purnell confirmed: "I was very interested to learn about
this new service being offered. Their product aims to help
businesses cut down on the costs of computing and to reduce the
environmental impact too. I wish them well in the development of
their new business."
